Hamilton UMC has been a presence in Hamilton almost since the beginning of the town.  Circuit
riders preached in Hamilton between the incorporation of the town in 1855 and the building of the
first Methodist Episcopal Church in 1867.  The southern part of the present building was dedicated
in 1900 and remodeled about 1950.  The middle portion of the present building was built about 1950
and was added to in the mid 1990's.  The Family Life Center was finished in 2007.  Not only is the
building used for worship, Sunday school, and church activities, it is also used extensively by the
local schools and the community at large.  We invite you to tour the building at any time and join us
for worship!
Founded in 2002, The Thrift Store offers gently used
clothes, toys, furniture, and other merchandise at a
reasonable price.  The proceeds from the sale of these
items are used exclusively to help the needy with
utilities, gasoline, food, and medicine.  The Thrift Store
is located at the north side of the church along 6th
Street. Parking is both off and on street. We accept
donations on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during
regular store hours (9 am-4 pm on Thursday and
Friday; 9 am-12 pm on Saturday).  For more
information call (816) 583-7479.
